The vision of the Peer Leadership Program (PLP) is to improve the mental, physical, and social health in the East Boston community through the engagement and development of young leaders. The PLP will work to develop participants’ professionalism, leadership skills, and knowledge of community health to produce meaningful health outcomes, including but not limited to the prevention of youth substance use within the East Boston community.

Commitment and Compensation

Areas of Engagement

  • Assist in facilitating health and wellness classes for younger youth following the Botvin Lifeskills curriculum.
  • Create youth engagement materials to be shared with the community at the weekly Farmer’s Market in East Boston.
  • Coordinate youth-friendly monthly events to engage with local East Boston community members and organizations.
